People Are Talking About Norse Hill
My first visit to Norse Hill was completely unexpected…in the best way possible. The sheer beauty of the place, the hospitality of the people, and the experiences we had in our short week’s stay made the trip unforgettable. From learning to surf at Boston Bay to climbing Reach Falls, to just hanging out on the beach at Frenchman’s Cove, there was never a shortage of exciting new things to do and see. Sitting under Norse Hill’s “tree of life” and watching the shooting stars every night was absolutely incredible. With the warm villa staff, fantastic cooking, and the beauty of Jamaica, we can’t wait to return! Here is my tribute video of some of the highlights of our trip!

What a wonderful property, in one of the nicest areas of Jamaica. Spectacular views over San San Beach, and the world famous Blue Lagoon. The house is well maintained and staffed, suitable for large groups. The house is isolated in the hills overlooking San San, and provides very intimate privacy. Substantial entertainment areas make this ideal for weddings or large parties. The staff are excellent, and will provide for your every whim. One of the best holidays I’ve ever had!

The villa was breathtaking. The views, the grounds, and the staff exceeded my expectations. We traveled with seven children ranging in age from 17 to 3, and everyone had a memorable time.
The villa staff were so accommodating and became part of our extended family! Harry was the most pleasant and knowledgeable driver. We saw so much of the area: Dunn’s River Falls, Reach Falls, rafting on the Rio Grande, Boston Jerk Center, Somerset Falls and the local beaches.
After a long day of sightseeing our villa was such a relaxing welcome home environment for the entire family. Our family will never stay in a resort type setting again and villa rental is the only way to truly experience a family and authentic culture base vacation. We will be back!

Port Antonio is really a place for people who want to see the real Jamaica. I think visitors to Port Antonio will get a very different experience of Jamaica than those people going to a resort like Ocho Rios/Negril. What you see in Port Antonio is very real with the opportunity to go to the market and eat from street sellers (perfectly safe).
What was amazing was the greeting which we received from the staff – we were warmly welcomed and they were particularly helpful with local knowledge of where to go. The food was very delicious and they kept to within our daily budget. I found that the chef was very helpful indeed and suggested a daily menu which was very appetizing. At no point was any food left over, which to me would suggest a very talented chef! Also all of the bedrooms were really lovely and clean – also clean towels were put out every day and beach towels were also provided.
We spent the day on Frenchman’s Cove beach, which was fantastic, and we also had a fantastic day of rafting down the Rio Grande, which I can thoroughly recommend. We organised scuba diving at the marina (where you can also snorkel) and this was also a fantastic day. There are some truly wonderful beaches and natural attractions like Reach Falls, and we certainly we not disappointed
The house really was stunning and we felt very lucky indeed to stay there. I would give special mention to Albert, who works in the garden – it is a real labour of love for him (and he has been landscaping it for over 30 years!) It was such a delight to walk around and he was helpful in pointing out plants and flowers to us. When we asked him about a particular fruit that we had found, he brought some up to the house a few days later for us to have with breakfast.

The villa, grounds and service was more than my family and I could have expected. It truly was a wonderful place to spend a portion of our holiday in Jamaica. I would also like to mention how pleased my family and I were with the staff at Norse Hill. Steve, Wain, Alma, and Albert were absolutely fantastic. I would like to make special note about Steve. I can not express enough how wonderful he was. The food he cooked was always amazing, but even more than that was his professionalism and passion for what he does. Steve was truly a pleasure to deal with and we loved how he was always attentive to my sister’s dietary needs (vegetarian) and always made sure that her dishes were as enjoyable and delectable as anything else on the table. Norse Hill is a wonderful villa and the grounds are breathtaking. We especially enjoyed our walks with Albert through the gardens. Alma and Wain were a pleasure, very gracious and wonderful hosts. The rooms were kept clean, the bar was always stocked (special thanks for Wain’s rum punch), and the dinner bell always rang on time!
